Creating a database

What it is

A database stores the content of dynamic applications (WordPress, online shops…): posts, users, orders. Most CMSs require one.

Setup (step by step)

1. In the panel, open Databases.
2. Create a dedicated database and user, with a strong password.
3. Note the 4 details: database name, user, password, server (often localhost).
4. Enter them when installing your application.

Good to know

If you install WordPress from the dedicated tab, the database is created automatically: you have nothing to do here.
