What is Proofpoint and what is it for?

What it is

Proofpoint is a security filter placed in front of your mailbox. Before an email reaches your inbox, it first passes through Proofpoint, which analyses and blocks spam, scam attempts (phishing) and viruses. Only clean messages reach you.

How it works

Today, your emails arrive directly at your email provider. Once Proofpoint is enabled, you change a technical setting of your domain (the MX records) so that mail first passes through our filtering servers, which then deliver it, cleaned, to your mailbox. This is completely invisible to your correspondents.

The plans

  • Business: essential anti-spam / anti-virus protection.
  • Advanced: adds enhanced protection against phishing and dangerous attachments.
  • Professional: maximum protection and advanced features.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to change my email address? No. Your addresses and mailboxes don't change: Proofpoint is simply added "in front".
