Verifying ownership of my domain
What it is
For security reasons, we must confirm that the domain you're protecting really belongs to you. This is done via a unique TXT record to publish in your DNS: it's harmless and has no effect on your mail.
Setup (step by step)
- In your Proofpoint service, locate the verification TXT record (of the form 1swiss1-verify=…).
- Add it to your domain's DNS (name: @, value: the string provided).
- Click "Verify now", or wait: an automatic check runs every hour.
Frequently asked questions
It stays "Pending". DNS propagation can take up to an hour. Check that the TXT is exactly the one provided, with no extra space.
What if my domain is at 1SWISS1? The TXT is published automatically: verification happens almost immediately.
