Managing my domain's DNS

What it is

DNS are the settings that tell the Internet "where" your domain points: to which site, which email servers, etc. Each setting is a record of a certain type.

The common types

  • A: points your domain to the address (IP) of a web server.
  • CNAME: points a subdomain to another name (e.g. www your domain).
  • MX: indicates which server receives your emails.
  • TXT: used for verifications and email security (SPF, DKIM…).

Setup (step by step)

  1. Open My Domains then select your domain.
  2. Go to DNS management.
  3. Add or edit a record (type, name, value), then save.

Good to know

A DNS change can take up to a few hours to propagate everywhere on the Internet. This is normal - no need to worry.
