Putting my files online (file manager and FTP)

What it is

For a site to display, its files must be placed in the public_html folder of your hosting. Two methods: the online file manager, or FTP software.

Method 1: the file manager (the simplest)

1. In the panel, open the Files tab.
2. Go into public_html.
3. Click Upload and select your files.

Method 2: FTP (for large transfers)

With software like FileZilla, connect using the host, username and FTP password shown in your panel, then drag and drop your files into public_html.

Frequently asked questions

My site shows a blank page or "Index of". Check that your home page is named index.html or index.php and that it is in public_html.
